En el mes de septiembre inició el curso de formación de Guardabosques promovido por La Estación Científica Los Cedros,
de la cual está participando alrededor de 20 estudiantes, un grupo etario variado de hombres y mujeres de las comunidades del Valle de Los Manduriacos y del Valle de Intag representantes del ACUSMIT (Área Conservación y Uso Sustentable Municipal Intag-Toisán.
A través del cual se generarán capacidades en las y los comuneros para monitorear las fuentes hídricas, reconocer las amenazas y proponer soluciones; manejar cámaras trampa para monitorear la vida silvestre; armar campamentos y reconocimiento de linderos del Bosque Protector Los Cedros y finalmente primeros auxilios.
Los talleres se han coordinado con una variedad de actores e instituciones clave para este proceso de formación, tales como Universidades, organizaciones para la conservación como Rainforest Concern, Ministerio de Ambiente y Cruz Roja.
En el mes de diciembre, cerca de 20 comuneros estarán al servicio de la conservación de los últimos bosques del Chocó.
